Sister’s Lunch

We are doing lunch at Carol’s house in May at 11:00 and June is a bridal shower for Megan at Grandma’s house.  More information will be coming from Sharon.

Race Event Calendar

Ronda suggested making a calendar for events that the race team will be participating in (or could be participating in). Here’s a link to a google calendar. I think anyone can register to administer this calendar, but I’m not sure. If you want to add something and can’t figure out how to do it, let me know and I can fix it for you.

Here’s the link: http://race.jollycircle.com/calendar/

Jolly Circle Race Team

Race Team Logo

Race Team Logo

Team site is: www.race.jollycircle.com

Okay, I’m starting a race team. Buying bicycling jerseys and running singlets (tank tops, really). The logo is cool, eh? If you want a jersey or singlet, talk to me. I’m trying to get sponsors so they will be cheap or free (if you agree to race–run or bike). If I can’t get sponsors, they will be $55.00 for jerseys and $35 for singlets.

I’m going to look into getting T-shirts, they should be a lot cheaper. I’ll let people know when/if that happens. Meanwhile, if you know of a company that might be willing to sponser, they’ll have to act fast. I’m hoping to order the jerseys Monday–I won’t be able to put sponsor’s logos on the jerseys after I order them.

Amie, Cameron, Camrie

Amie is such a cute mom.  She enjoys being home with her cute daughter and watching her learn and grow and she keeps us all informed by posting important events on her blog called Camrie’s World.  She calls it that because right now she only has one child and her whole world revolves around her.   Check it out here.

How to use this site

I don’t know if we have a sucker for the “third sunday” for January, but how about we do a 3rd saturday at my house and I’ll teach everyone who comes  how to  use the site, including how to upload photos (which I just added). It is VERY easy to use–way easier than the old site. You’ll like it.

January 17th, 9:00AM. If you want breakfast, be here at 8:30.

I have wireless internet at my house, so if you have a laptop you can bring it. I also have 4 computers (2 apple, 2 PC–everyone can be happy) so if you can’t bring your computer, you can use one of mine.

If it’s snowy, bring your children and they can sled down the mountain behind us (it’s awesome). If it’s not snowy, bring your children and they can clean up dog poop that’s been hiding beneath the snow for a while now. We have other fun stuff to do, too.

If you have any suggestions, leave a comment or call. We can actually do this at any house that has wireless internet–I can bring 3 laptops. So if Springville is too far, host at your house.

Dennis is Online…

ain\'t no stoppin him nowThose of us lucky enough to get random voice mail related to the CIA or some secret organization in the church know what it means that Dennis just figured out how to use email. You’ll noticed he’s already started leaving comments.

If you haven’t done it yet, it’s probably time to put a filter on your email and parental controls on your computer so your children don’t accidently come accross some of his “work.”

I can block him from participating in the site, if it comes to that. I hope it doesn’t. But if it does, it will be a good lesson for him to learn–he’s swimming in a much larger pond. I’m the man on Jolly Circle, now. And in my Jolly Circle there are no weird people at the end of the street. No Knotecks.

Houseboat on Lake Powell

Lake Powell is incredible. It would be awesome if our family would go in on a houseboat together. You might be thinking to yourself… “that’s too expensive,” but it’s not as bad as you think. I just drove down there and back for about $100, and that was in a fully loaded suburban. And here’s a great houseboat for only 2750 for 2 weeks, plus $1000 a year. That’s basically $500 a week, split between several families, you’re probably looking at less than $500 for your family to spend a week on Powell, including gas to drive down, food, entrance fees, and gas to drive the boat.

Here are some pictures of the boat:

This is a small boat. It sleeps 10 inside and then 5 or 6 on top. But that’s big enough for a few families.

Anyway, what do you think?

Family Email List

If you go here: http://jollycircle.com/mailman/listinfo/family_jollycircle.com you can sign up to be on the family email list. Once you’ve signed up, you can send messages to the entire Park family by using the following email address: family@jollycircle.com.

How would this ever be useful? I don’t know. Let’s say you are about to be killed by an intruder and you want to let everyone know who the culprit is, you could quickly type in that address and we’d all get the message.

Basically, it’s similar to creating a “group” in your email address book, only it has some other small benefits (people can add themselves/update their addresses without you doing any work–so your address book is always current). And, I don’t know, it just seems cool.

Griffin’s Mountain Biking Season

5 mile pass raceGriffin has one 1st place in every mountain bike race this season (he missed 3 races, but would easily have taken 1st in those, too). In the race at Sundance he raced the beginner adult race AFTER racing his age group and he still beat all of the beginner women, all of the beginner 13 to 18, and all but about 5 of the men over 18.

His last race is in the Uintas near the wyoming border. You can check out the results at www.intermountaincup.com (click on overall points and then scroll down to the 12 and under category).
